MOCA has been actively adapting to the evolving situation regarding COVID-19 and will continue to do so, ensuring staff and visitor safety and striving to maintain a supportive work environment.

The Development Assistant offers administrative support to MOCA's development department. Assisting in a variety of tasks related to institutional and individual giving, fundraising, stewardship, and research.


Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records, input fundraisingrelated activity, generate reports and manage contact lists in both DonorPerfect and Agile Ticketing, helping to uphold the integrity of MOCA's databases
  • Process all financial contributions and receipts from donors, sponsors and grantors in DonorPerfect and issue the appropriate tax receipts
  • Ensure privacy and data quality controls, including regular maintenance of the DonorPerfect database
  • Maintain electronic and paper filing systems
  • Coordinate and execute the timely acknowledgement of all supporters including correspondence, tax receipt mailout, as well as print, web and onsite signage recognition
  • Produce reports that show fundraising progress and effectiveness,
  • Research prospective and existing donors to identify opportunities for new and increased support
  • Support with onsite donor meetings and events
  • Support departmental scheduling needs as requested
  • Provide administrative support to the other members of the development team

Skills and Qualifications

  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience
  • Postsecondary education including degrees and/or certificates in fundraising or arts administration is considered an asset
  • Experience with relational databases and/or CRM platforms is essential, previous experience with DonorPerfect and Agile Ticketing is preferred
  • Practical experience cultivating, soliciting, closing and stewarding donations and/or memberships of $2,000 and above
  • Advanced Gsuite skills
  • Outstanding social, customer service and relationship management skills
  • Highly effective and clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working with the senior board and committeelevel volunteers is considered an asset
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Toronto's arts community is considered an asset
  • Experience working at a multistakeholder notforprofit and/or in a startup environment is considered an asset
