    Role Description

    We are actively looking for a Procurement Specialist (Toronto) to join and support QuadReal's Operational Excellence Team for immediate start.

    Reporting into the Director, Procurement. The Procurement Specialist will be the lead Subject Matter Expert available to the properties to support the execution of procurement activities. They will play a key role in delivering the facilitation services and be the key point of contact for the properties to determine the level of support required from the COE for the various services. The Procurement Specialist will coordinate the day-to-day activities of the COE with the assistance of the admin support and other COE resources. They will also determine and coordinate the involvement of internal QuadReal and external Subject Matter Experts as required by the procurement activities at the property level.

    Responsibilities

  • Interact with key stakeholders in identifying business needs, building relationships and raising awareness of the services and benefits of the COE
  • Support user groups through RFP/RFQ processes during the acquisition of goods and services. Participating in meetings with operations teams to help guide users through the RFP/RFQ processes to identify, document and implement ongoing requests for proposals for multiple properties as per procurement strategies and compliance requirements
  • Collect and analyze procurement data collected from ERP system and transform into comprehensible reports for use in specific projects and procurement strategies.
  • Facilitate detailed sourcing and category strategies to maximize procurement effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Manage the implementation and execution of standardized procurement processes.
  • Assist with vendor selection, management and performance.
  • Facilitate competitive procurement to select new and existing suppliers.
  • Provide outstanding customer service and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Procurement Center of Excellence: Action on Procurement COE projects including procurement training, implementation of new procurement technology and tools, category strategies and forums for knowledge
  • Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Certification in Operations & Supply Chain Management is an asset.
  • Four years of experience in strategic procurement roles.
  • Previous experience working in corporation of national/international presence with operations in multiple sites across the country.
  • Must have advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Word; knowledge of Power BI is an asset. Experience with ERP systems and how they work is desirable. Previous experience with e-procurement tools is an asset.
  • Basic understanding of contract law and contract management/administration is an asset.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills; detail-oriented and proficient in reading and interpreting raw data. Ability to synthesize disparate qualitative information into a cohesive narrative and summary.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; demonstrate an ability to effectively communicate and present results that articulate key themes and messages.
  • Must be able to allocate time effectively and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines, handle multiple demands and competing priorities, and adapt to new ideas and change. Comfortable following direction but also contributing to the direction.
  • Must be extremely proactive and work well in a collaborative environment, with the ability to take guidance but then move projects forward independently.
