Job Statement
We are looking to fill an opening for a Product Compliance Technician position.

We are looking for a dynamic, motivated and autonomous individual with experience in the repair or replacement of electrical and electronic components in professional lighting and pro audio product, who will verify, test and modify the products we sell so that they comply with Canadian electrical standards.


Responsibilities

  • Verify that the products we receive from suppliers are CSA approved (or carry an equivalent mark)
  • If not, the product must be opened and verified to validate that it was manufactured in accordance with CSA standards and to ensure that it contains approved electrical components
  • When required, modify the products (rewiring and/or replacement of nonapproved components) so that they comply with CSA standards
  • Document any changes required to the product to meet CSA standards so that they can be communicated to our suppliers
  • Prepare units for approval (place boxes on tables or platforms, open boxes, bags)
  • List serial numbers of all units to be approved
  • Perform dielectric tests and complete inspection sheets with test results
  • Dismantle units for the inspector
  • Assist the inspector during the inspection
  • Once approved by the inspector, all units must be closed, tested and repackaged in their original packaging and box
  • Products must be returned to inventory, ensuring that the products remain in new condition
  • Perform inventory transfers of approved products and inventory adjustments of parts used
  • Complete inspection reports
  • Maintain product inventory accuracy on a weekly basis
  • Maintain the work area in a clean and tidy condition
  • When required, perform minor repairs on products
  • Perform various verifications and tests on products to ensure they meet quality standards
  • Perform various tasks within the service department

Qualifications

  • 2 to 3 years of experience in the repair, or replacement of electric and electronic components in professional lighting and pro audio products
  • Electronics Diploma (DEP or DEC) would be a major asset
  • Knowledge of CSA electrical standards would be an asset
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy boxes
  • Resourcefulness, initiative, autonomy, adaptability
  • Bilingualism (verbal & written)
  • The Product Compliance Technician will be required to speak to suppliers across Canada; therefore, English is mandatory
  • Knowledge of JD Edwards and Solochain software would be an asset
  • Experience as a forklift operator would be an asset
  • Team player
