Ruth and Naomi's (RAN) is a Christian faith-based organization with a vision and commitment to see the lives of people experiencing homelessness, poverty, and struggling with addiction transformed by the love of God.
To assist in this work, we are seeking a Finance Manager.As a member of the Ruth & Naomi's Leadership Team, the Finance Manager is expected to be active within a local Christian community and sign a statement of faith upon hiring.
Responsibilities
- Oversee financial operations of the organization, ensuring timely processing of all AP/AR, Payroll, and other financial processes;
- Prepare and present financial statements and other reports as requested by other members of the Strategic Leadership Team;
- Lead on budget creation, ensuring the timely distribution of annual department budgets and preparing midyear budget updates;
- Prepare and distribute monthly variance reports for department managers
- Liaise with BC Housing and other external funding agencies to provide necessary documentation and support for contracts;
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing using Payworks software;
- Develop and maintain effective processes and controls for financial functions, ensuring processes are clear, concise, and followed by all;
- Collaborate with the Partner Development department to develop donation analytics and Key Performance Indicators;
- Advise senior leadership on financial planning and resource allocation
- Supervise finance staff, providing clear Objectives and Key Results, performance management and mentorship, and training
- Facilitate the annual audit and distribute audited financial statements to the Board of Directors
Assets & Experience
- 35 years in Financial Management role;
- Current CPA designation with Bachelor's degree in a business field
- Nonprofit experience preferred;
- Experience with SAGE, Payworks, and FundraiseUp an asset
- Excellent communication and attention to detail and accuracy
- Creative and innovative problemsolving mindset
- Ability to participate in robust discussions and healthy conflict
