SUMMARY:


  • The position is responsible for facilitating all key HR functions and programs including recruitment, employee relations, employee benefits, and performance management with the objective of contributing towards the efficient service delivery by the HR department._

ACCOUNTABILITIES:


  • Maintains HR records by keeping accurate, up to date employee files including contracts, performance reviews and benefits forms.
  • Maintains the human resources information system (HRIS) by tracking and reporting on employee data such as sick days, vacation days, banked overtime and hours worked, to ensure accurate, timely information can be made available to management and staff.
  • Assists the HR team by scheduling meetings, training sessions, interviews, and reference checks.
  • Assists the HR Manager in creating new HR policies and in collecting data for HR dashboards.
  • Provides recruitment support for managers and supervisors by assisting in creating job postings, interview questions, reference checks forms and job offers.
  • Provides assistance and support to employees on HR matters while ensuring strict confidentiality when handling sensitive issues.
  • Ensures the employee handbook is kept up to date by making revisions as new policies and procedures come into effect.
  • Creates new hire employee letters, packages, and assists in the onboarding process.
  • Undertakes special assignments or projects as assigned by Director, Human Resources.

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Degree or diploma in Human Resources.
  • Minimum of 2 years HR related experience.
  • Experience developing and delivering human resources initiatives.
  • Knowledge of human resources (recruitment and retention, compensation, performance management & employee relations) principles, policies, and practices.
  • Knowledge of BC Employment Standards & Human Rights Code.
  • Experience developing Job Descriptions, HR policies and organizing training and orientation sessions.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Superior oral and written communication
**SALARY RANGE: $22 to $32 per hour
