- Consult with client departments to determine priorities and parts requirements
- Pick up and deliver parts & materials, receive and unpack stock, check packing slips against items received, enter stock issues and receive data into SAP
- Return incorrect stock and obsolete parts to appropriate vendors
- Contact vendors or suppliers regarding shortages or incorrect quality of goods to reconcile discrepancies
- Assist with cycle counts, investigate and reconcile discrepancies
- Recommend changing inventory levels, substitutions, stocking new items, and enhancements to processes and procedures
- Participate in housekeeping activities and inspect the condition of inventory and parts room, ensuring safety rules and regulations are adhered to
- Attend safety and general meetings
- Perform additional related duties as required
Qualifications:
- Recognized Journeyman in the trade of Parts Technician
- Minimum 1year practical parts; experience with heavy equipment/trucks is an asset
- A working knowledge of SAP & M5 is an asset
- Knowledge of WHMIS and MSDS is required
- Knowledge of inventory control and warehousing practices
- Ability to lift a weight of 50 pounds and reach to top shelves with the aid of a stepladder
- Demonstrated customer service skills
- Able to understand, communicate, read, and write English at a level needed to meet jobrelated task and safety requirements
- Applicants may be required to complete other training courses recognized by the City of Edmonton
- Hire is dependent on a Criminal Records Check (CRC) security clearance that is satisfactory to the City of Edmonton and is a requirement of this position, there may be a cost associated with this requirement
- Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's licence (or provincial equivalent). Obtaining and maintaining a City Driver's permit is a requirement of this position
