WHY THIS ROLE:


As a member of the Global Expansion team and reporting to the Market Director, Asia, the FDI Project Specialist is to provide support for the ongoing Foreign Direct Investment attraction projects and activities focusing on the Asian region and the Global Runway Soft-landing program.


WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:


  • Supporting the Market Director for ongoing project support related to the Global Runway Softlanding program;
  • Providing project support and services for the investor followup activities related to ongoing FDI projects;
  • Providing project support and coordination for the ongoing FDI target companies visit to the Ottawa region;
  • Providing support and coordination for the ongoing FDI lead generation activities and target projects;
  • Working with the Market Directors to prepare FDI reports and analyze data metrics;
  • Additional tasks related to FDI activities assigned by the Market Director.

WHAT YOU HAVE ACCOMPLISHED/ GAINED THROUGHOUT YOUR CAREER:

  • Recent graduate (less than 3 years from the date of degree completion) from a post-secondary institution with a Bachelor in Economics, Marketing, Commerce, Business Administration, International Business, or an equivalent program with great academic tracking records;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the continental and international business communities as well as an understanding of the small, medium, and large business markets in the Ottawa region;
  • Strong client services skills, especially sound communication skills dealing with global clients from diversified cultural backgrounds;
  • Strong data and research analytical skills;
  • Informed decisionmaking with sound understanding of context, data and evidence;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Any applicable apps, databases and CRM software considered an asset;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Knowledge of additional language(s) spoken in the APAC region considered an asset (Mandarin, Japanese, Korean, etc.)
  • Positive attitude, outgoing and willing to learn new skills and knowledge
  • Ability to work in a small team as well as independently
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment with rapidly changing priorities and tight deadlines
