We specialize in the innovative design and manufacture of cast and fabricated iron and steel products for the mining and resources sector, and we also expertly serve rail and transit, energy, structural and industrial casting and defence markets.


The Prep Labourer will be responsible for performing gouging and cutting using gas and electric welding equipment under the supervision of the Supervisor/Lead hand safely and efficiently.


Role Responsibilities

  • Follow instructions and directions from the Production Supervisor/Lead hand in a reading of prints, work orders, and planning of work procedures regarding tools and materials' requirements.
  • Follow and complete cut sheets as written.
  • Verify and transfer pipe identification numbers.
  • Build up worn and defective surfaces.
  • Use burning equipment to dismantle assemblies and to cut materials to size and shape.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all Bradken's safety policies and OH&S regulations.

Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Knowledge

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalency required.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lb repetitively required.

Experience:


  • Solid understanding of the use and care of hand and power tools required.
  • The ability to read blueprints is an asset.
  • Previous experience in a fabrication shop is an asset.
  • Knowledge of oil and gas and the manufacturing industry is an asset.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and frequent demanding deadlines.
  • Strong work ethic and good organizational and planning skills.
  • Works effectively in a team environment and can take direction.
  • Shift flexibility and the ability to work OT as required.

Shift Available:

Afternoon - Monday to Thursday 3:30pm - 1:30 am - Off Friday, Saturday, Sunday
