Summary:


Performs a variety of material handling and logístical tasks in support of manufacturing production and/or prototype printed circuit boards and other products.

Receives no instructions on routine work, general instructions on new assignments. Tasks are moderately complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making recommendations. Decisions/actions may cause a minor impact on the work unit operations or schedules. Works under general Supervision. Situations not covered by standard processes, procedures and methods are referred to expert resource. May demonstrate work methods to new employees.

Deals directly with immediate supervisor, co-workers and team members; engages in exchanges of factual information and provides some explanation; interactions with external contacts, if applicable, require exchanging factual information and providing some explanation.

Detailed Description:

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Able to follow instructions on how to Tape & Reel, Tinning, & feeder repair process.
  • Works from verbal or written instructions to complete tasks and repairs. (i.e., bulk parts put into reels, repair feeders for mfg, tinning of all customer requirements) or prototype operations.
  • Includes preforming parts, tape and reeling of components and splitting parts per individual process steps.
  • Counts and returns all parts to customers after completion of work.
  • Updates material list spreadsheets.
  • Communicates to engineers and mfg peers status on preformed work.
  • Completes detailed inventory transactions in appropriate systems.
  • Operates a variety of equipment including tape & reel equipment, feeder repair testers, & tinning equipment

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:


  • Ability to learn how to operate specific equipment such as tape & reel, feeder repair tester, & tinning bath.
  • Knowledge of warehouse, distribution, inventory control and shipping/receiving practices.
  • Standard knowledge of EH&S for the job.
  • Knowledge of logistics systems, SMT materials, electronics packaging and electronics terms.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to read and assimilate job documentation and identify and configure specific materials for each work order.
  • Ability to maintain detailed, accurate and organized records.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of internal customers.
  • Specific certifications and/or licenses as required.

Physical Demands:


  • Duties of this position are performed in a manufacturing environment with occasional to frequent exposure to elements such as noise, dust, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, etc.
  • Duties of this position require occasional sustained concentration to focus on small areas, objects, computers, etc.
  • Duties of this position require continuous light physical effort and exertion including prolonged repetitive motion, standing, sitting in a confined work space, climbing, using equipment, handling lightweight materials, etc.
  • Duties of this position require periodic heavy manual effort and considerable exertion including lifting objects over 20 pounds, requiring straining, pulling and lifting.

Typical Experience:


  • Three to five years relevant experience.

Typical Education:


  • High school diploma and additional courses after high school, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Educational Requirements may vary by geography
