HDR is looking for an engaged leader for our Resources Business Group (RBG), which includes our Industrial, Power and Waste sectors, in Canada.

In the role of Resources Business Group Leader for Canada you will have the opportunity to grow a strong resources business in the Canadian marketplace.

As part of our world-class organization and in collaboration with our outstanding technical and business professionals you will help shape our future strategic and geographic development.

Primary Responsibilities
This position is responsible for the supervision and operations of the Resources Business Group (RBG) in Canada.

Reports to the Canada Managing Director and serves as the overall lead for the implementation of RBG objectives within the designated area and Market Sectors.

This position is responsible for Tactical and Strategic Plans in the Resources Business Group. Direct reports will include the section managers of the Resource Business Group in Canada.

In concert with the section managers, this position oversees staffing, financial management, client delivery, marketing, and quality control within the business group.

Additional duties include serving as a client manager and promoting client relations.

Facilitate area teamwork, communication and worksharing between offices, business classes, management, marketing and staff to maximize client satisfaction, company growth and profitability.
Build RBG capabilities through recruitment, mentoring, staff development and training.
Support development of strong client relationships and selectively serve as a key client manager.
Implement continuous improvement activities including technical standards, best practices and lessons learned in Canada.
Monitor RBG performance indicators and implement actions and process improvements as needed.
Monitor implementation of company policies and procedures, standards, quality assurance and risk management within business group.
Participate in business and community activities as a representative of HDR.
Develop strategic and tactical objectives in the Resources Business Group

The Resources Business Group Leader will also provide client development activities including strategic planning, assist the Area Manager with budgeting, program leadership, community and industry participation, project pursuits, staffing and training.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a professional, engineering or related field.
Registered P.Eng in BC, AB and/or ON preferred
Active in area industry associations.
Previous experience managing staff, clients, contracts and hiring staff for an engineering consulting firm is desired.
Strong teamwork, communications and leadership skills.
An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employeeowned culture is a must.
