Summary:


Within the context of a client and family centred model of care and, in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values, and strategic directions of Providence Health Care, the person promotes a safe, respectful, and civil working environment for patients, residents, families, visitors and staff.


Reporting to the Corporate Director, Strategic Planning and Management and supporting high priority strategic and operational Initiatives of Providence Health Care (PHC), the Analyst works as part of a small team in the Office of Strategy and Results to support the Senior Leadership Team, Board, and priority service areas to monitor progress against our Enterprise Risk Register, and Mission: Forward strategic plan.

This includes performance monitoring, analysis, and targeted communication of organizational strategic reports.

The Analyst has primary responsibility for monitoring and reporting progress against PHC's Mission: Forward strategic plan.

This includes supporting the development and/or updating of documents and reports including quarterly updates for the annual Objectives and Key Results; Enterprise Risk Register and associated prevention and mitigation actions; and PHC's Corporate Policies.

In addition, they will provide analytical support for specific planning, strategy, and organizational priority initiatives, as required.

This is a Hybrid role.


Qualifications / Skills and Education:
Education


A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Business/ Public/ Health Administration, Social or Health Sciences or other relevant discipline or field of study, and three years' recent related experience working within the health system in an analytical or planning capacity.

Skills and Abilities

  • Broad understanding of current issues, challenges and future directions of health care delivery, health status, and the determinants of health in British Columbia.
  • Ability to find, collect, analyze, and interpret data, including the use of basic statistical concepts & tools.
  • Ability to gather, synthesize and summarize complex information and prepare written reports for a range of audiences including executive use and for public consumption.
  • Knowledge and experience with the more advanced features of Microsoft Office, as well as data analysis and information sharing tools (e.g., Tableau, Business Objects, SharePoint, etc.).
  • Ability to build relationships with a variety of individuals is a critical attribute. This includes relationships with program/content experts.
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and challenging environment as a part of a small and highfunctioning team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supports PHC's annual strategic planning and enterprise risk management processes through the creation, collection, compilation, analysis, and synthesis of relevant and required background information (e.g., health system policy and planning requirements and issues, trends and forecasts, service utilization, program priorities, best practices, etc.).
  • Supports organization-wide planning, monitoring, and reporting requirements. Develops compelling and polished presentations and other engagement and communication approaches as required to support this work within and outside of PHC including writing and development of briefing material, presentations, and dashboards.
  • Ensures data is effectively gathered, mined, and leveraged to enable effective decision making in support of corporate strategies. Provides quality assurance and a value-added review of reporting inputs to promote high standards for quality and insight.
  • Undertakes simple statistical analysis as needed to generate accurate and concise quarterly and ad hoc reports to support strategic planning, monitoring and decision making.
  • Develops communications, training guides and other resources to support leaders, staff, and medical staff to understand organizational priorities. Guides, trains, and supports leaders in accessing and interpreting relevant planning information.
  • Maintains up to date knowledge of the scope of planned strategic work within PHC to inform Executive decisions.
  • Maintains internal and external contacts as needed for the purpose of identifying health service issues and trends in health service delivery that may impact strategic plans, program plans and other projects and initiatives.
