The Recreation Programming Division is responsible for the provision of programs and leisure opportunities for all age groups and abilities year-round.

The Division promotes healthy lifestyles and works with individuals and community groups in the provision of recreation services.

***: The Mixed Media Art Activity Leader is responsible for planning and leading developmentally appropriate activities and instruction while maintaining a safe environment to engage participants to expand their interest in art. They have an in-depth knowledge of techniques and processes in multiple medias including but not limited to sewing, collage, fabric art, 3D art, painting, drawing, writing etc. They have strong organization and supervisory skills with the proven ability to create and implement lesson plans. Reports to the Assistant Managers of Recreation Programming, Adapted & Inclusive Programming Supervisor and/or Youth Services Supervisor.

This is a non-union, casual position. Hours of work will be part time, as required and may include evenings, days and weekends. Wages vary from $25.00-$35.00/hour based on experience and qualifications. An additional 4 % of gross wages is paid in lieu of vacation, statutory holidays and benefits.

Postsecondary degree or diploma in Fine Arts, Performing Arts and/or equivalent combination of education and teaching experience in the arts setting
Criminal Records Clearance

Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C:

Related program experience in recreation, fine arts, education, instruction, drama, crafts, special needs education and/or summer camp experience
Have a strong commitment to professionalism
Ability to lift up to 50lbs
Ability to actively participate in recreation programming
