Our team works with community volunteers, partners and other supporters to create safe environments for children to be between school and home and to provide caring mentoring relationships for children and youth.   • Salary Range: $ 46,343 $ 52,433 annually

The key responsibilities of this position will include:_**- Creating and providing a variety of programming for children specifically in the areas of: Physical Activity, Life Skills/ Leadership, Arts and Culture, Health and Nutrition and Academic Support.


  • Providing flexible programming including potential outdoor activities weather permitting.
  • Engaging children and families to participate in the programming services we offer.
  • Providing a safe, engaging, and positive place for children and families to be.
  • Building relationships with program partners, in order to understand child, youth and community issues/trends within their area.
  • Connecting with local community supports to enhance programming for children and youth.
  • Preparing meals and snacks in accordance with AHS standards.
  • Maintaining uptodate electronic casework notes, statistics and other required reporting in compliance with relevant standards, policies and processes and to understand impact.

  • University degree or college diploma in the area of child and youth care, education or early child development.
  • 23 years combined experience in a role involved with child and youth programming, childcare, case management and partnership development.
  • Experience in child and youth program development, implementation and assessment.
  • The ability to work effectively with children and youth, manage behaviors and have a solid understanding of child and youth issues.
  • Previous experience in an afterschool program setting.
  • Demonstrated good communication skills (both written and oral)
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and sound decision making.
  • Early Childhood Educator Certification at a Level 2 or 3 is an asset.
  • Ability to work 11:307:30 PM Monday to Friday from September to June and shift to day time hours during July and August.
  • A valid driver's license and vehicle.
