Available Position:
Accounting Clerk, Truro Location

MacKay's Truck & Trailer Center is growing, and we are currently seeking a permanent full-time Accounting Clerk to join our team in Truro, Nova Scotia.

MacKay's is a well-established family-owned business with over 40 years experience operating full-line Truck, Trailer & Compact Equipment dealerships, with locations in Truro & Dartmouth, Nova Scotia as well as Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.

The Accounting Clerk is responsible for:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in the general ledger and accounting software.
Prepare journal entries and assist with monthend and yearend closing procedures.
Assist with monthend and yearend closing procedures, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
Generate financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Collaborate with internal departments to resolve accountingrelated issues and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Provide administrative support to the accounting department.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Post secondary diploma in accounting or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
A minimum of 2 years' accounting experience.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAGE, SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
