Mission

We are seeking a Linear Construction Inspector to join our growing Infrastructure Team supporting our communities with vital water and wastewater infrastructure projects in the GTA.

As a Construction Inspector, you will oversee all the construction projects on-site specifically in linear works, such as in water supply and distribution, and wastewater collection.

Primary Responsibilities

Site inspection on municipal construction projects for quality control and adherence with applicable provincial standards, engineering design and technical specifications
Document construction site activities by keeping a detailed daily diary, taking photos, performing survey checks, and recording asbuilt conditions
Identify and monitor deficiencies
Provide problem resolution/field solutions with respect to unforeseen construction issues
Review and comment on construction progress payment certificates and quotations
Arrange onsite geotechnical investigations and material testing for concrete, granular materials and asphalt and liaise with clients, regulatory inspectors, various utility companies, residents, and other stakeholders as required

Profile

3 years of related experience in municipal/civil engineering construction, with direct experience in water or wastewater infrastructure
Effective communicator possessing demonstrated skills in dealing with other staff, contractors, and the public, in matters arising from construction projects
Possess working knowledge of the Ontario Provincial Standards and Specifications (OPSS) for Municipal projects
Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite
MTO Class 'G' driver's license in good standing and access to a personnel vehicle
