Mission


We are seeking a Linear Construction Inspector to join our growing Infrastructure Team supporting our communities with vital water and wastewater infrastructure projects in the GTA.

As a Construction Inspector, you will oversee all the construction projects on-site specifically in linear works, such as in water supply and distribution, and wastewater collection.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Site inspection on municipal construction projects for quality control and adherence with applicable provincial standards, engineering design and technical specifications
  • Document construction site activities by keeping a detailed daily diary, taking photos, performing survey checks, and recording asbuilt conditions
  • Identify and monitor deficiencies
  • Provide problem resolution/field solutions with respect to unforeseen construction issues
  • Review and comment on construction progress payment certificates and quotations
  • Arrange onsite geotechnical investigations and material testing for concrete, granular materials and asphalt and liaise with clients, regulatory inspectors, various utility companies, residents, and other stakeholders as required

Profile

  • 3 years of related experience in municipal/civil engineering construction, with direct experience in water or wastewater infrastructure
  • Effective communicator possessing demonstrated skills in dealing with other staff, contractors, and the public, in matters arising from construction projects
  • Possess working knowledge of the Ontario Provincial Standards and Specifications (OPSS) for Municipal projects
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite
  • MTO Class 'G' driver's license in good standing and access to a personnel vehicle
