Description:

As a Driver II, you will be responsible for the transportation of a range of products including but not limited to mail, pharmaceuticals, medical surgical supplies, beds, medical equipment, food, mail and linen, in accordance with accepted AHS standards, regulations and policies.

You will pick up and deliver patients to appointments and other institutions/facilities. In addition, you will deliver patient trays, equipment and medical supplies to institutions/facilities.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Must hold a valid Class 5 Alberta Operator's Licence. Completion of valid Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) certificate.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Must hold a valid Class 2 Alberta Operator's License. Class 2 Drivers Permit. Air Brake Q Endorsement.

Current Heart and Stroke BLS-HCP and Standard First AidPhysically able to meet the demands of the position (sitting for long periods of time; assisting patients in wheelchairs in and out of vehicles; able to load and unload heavy-wheeled carts and pallets (jacks used with pallets).

Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 kg.

The ability to work in all weather conditions and safely operate all AHS vehicles in all weather and road conditions.
