Description
Treatment Coordinator is responsible for the treatment coordination processes of Dental Services. The incumbent is accountable for treatment coordination and scheduling, dental administration, accounts receivable and month end processes.

This is a temporary full-time (1.0 FTE) position expected to be 13 months in length.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Treatment coordination for a variety of dental specialties
  • Orthodontist, Oral Surgeon and Prosthodontist
  • Referral coordination for consultation and eligibility to the CLP program
  • Ensure all treatment plans and fee estimates are completed by the dental specialists
  • Post treatment plans to database
  • Present and ensure understanding of all potential treatment options to clients and families
  • Explain payment options available to clients and families and establish payment plans; refer clients to alternative funding sources as needed
  • Post predeterminations and client treatment
  • Post daily and monthly payments, insurance cheques and coordinate with insurance companies and government funded programs
  • Reconcile day end and follow up on required adjustments; prepare daily deposits and forwards payments to Finance
  • Reconciliation of lab and or parts bills
  • Ensure accuracy of billings and fees for remuneration for consultants and process cheque requests
  • Calculate Dental specialists monthly payment
  • Sound understanding of the Ontario Cleft Lip and Palate/Craniofacial Dental Program, dental treatments and outcomes
  • Cultivate relationships with strategic partners such as the MOH Cleft Lip and Palate Program and community providers
  • Monthly financial analysis of the CLP program and reconciliation of MOH reimbursement for internal billings, yearly MOH projection report
  • Shared responsibility for month end process
  • Monitors and maintains accounts receivable and direct to collection agency as needed
  • Coordinate clinician's schedules
  • Support Dental Administration as needed; assist front desk during lunch, short staff or once a week
  • Follow established guidelines for client identification and privacy
  • Regular treatment coordination time with the dental specialists
  • Participate in our Northern Outreach Clinics and ITI Education week
  • Actively participate and share relevant information in morning rounds
  • Support the organization's strategic plan
  • Comply with Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation contingency plan, emergency codes, standards and guidelines; participate in accreditation
  • Other duties as assigned or required.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education/Experience

  • Sound knowledge of accounting (AR) and analytical principles and practices, as required through the successful completion of business administration courses preferably at the post secondary level or equivalent job experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of dental treatments and outcomes
  • Enhance job knowledge and skills by completing WISE elearning modules

Skills

  • Problem solving, conflict management and relationship building
  • Previous experience in accounting (AR), preferably in a health care environment
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills; demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and balance multiple disparate projects
  • Excellent communication (written/verbal) and interpersonal skills coupled with a strong customer service orientation
  • Proven ability to work independently with mínimal supervision, and also in a team environment
  • Demonstrate initiative
  • Demonstrate ability to use tact and judgment in dealing with sensitive and confidential information
  • Must be detailed oriented
  • Possess and project a positive, solution oriented outlook
  • Working computer knowledge of (EXAN, MEDITECH, Word, Excel, CLP Web Based Access) with good keyboarding skills essential
