This is what you'll be doing:
Provides nutritional care to low and moderate risk patients, as delegated by the Registered Dietitian.

Collects, assesses inputs patient related information required by the Computrition software system to ensure the provision of patient specific meals consistent with diet order prescribed.

Acts as a liaison on behalf of the department with nursing units, patients and clinical dietitians in the provision of nutritional care.

  • Diet Technician or Food and Nutrition services diploma from an approved college and/or University degree in Human Nutrition
  • Membership in the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (CSNM)or eligible
  • Clinical nutrition knowledge in the management of disease
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload independently and use good judgment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong Computer and keyboarding skills (MS Office, Meditech or comparable software) Mandatory
  • Familiar with Foodservice Diet Office Operating Systems (Computrition or comparable) Preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to function in a team environment
  • Professionalism, accuracy and benevolent disposition
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record required
