Your role on our team:

The Project Manager is responsible for planning, developing, coordinating and managing various capital, major and minor repair projects and tenant fit ups regardless of size and complexity.


Project Management

  • Develops, oversees and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors;
  • Plans and prepares construction schedules and milestones and monitors progress against established schedules;
  • Participates in tender and contract evaluations;
  • Participates in the preparation of scopes of work in conjunction with value engineering;
  • Prepares progress reports and issues progress schedules to clients;
  • Ensures execution of projects in construction phase, according to the approved business plan;
  • Participates in stakeholder engagement and negotiations;
  • Manages design, review drawings and specifications and provides feedback concerning costs and practicality;
  • Reviews and contributes to client/inhouse design briefs;
  • Issues regular status reports and ensure resolution of material issues that affect project delivery;
  • Conducts post project reviews;
  • Reviews the requirements for change notices, authorizes change notices and change orders;
  • Manages project dependencies and develops contingency plans as appropriate;
  • Manages architects and consultants to ensure completeness of design documents and that construction schedules and plans are met;
  • Addresses concerns on an ongoing basis;
  • Participates in annual Capital Project planning and funding requests with Property Manager and Technical Operations Manager;
  • Secures appropriate resources with operational managers;
  • Provides support to customer experience team as required;

Financial Accountability

  • Helps prepare and manage the budgets while tracking costs weekly/monthly;
  • Prepares and monitors cash flow projections;
  • Continuously pursues cost effective alternatives to improve financial performance in all areas;

Management and Leadership

  • Provides daytoday project leadership, coaching and mentoring to project team, internal support team and subcontractors resources as required;
  • Sets high standards, establishes accountabilities and measures performance consistent with Minto's Values;
  • Ensures all parties adhere to health and safety standards and promote a healthy and safe work environment;
  • Other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, as requested by management.

Who we're looking for:


  • College Diploma relevant field. PMP certification is an asset
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant work experience
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Working knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawing and specifications, Building material and required standards applicable to discipline.
  • Fully proficient with MS office and Microsoft project tools
  • Knowledge of Yardi is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of Government Services Canada policies and guidelines and National Project Management System (NPMS)
