We are currently seeking a
International Student Liaison Coordinator to join our team The International Student Liaison is responsible for facilitating the integration of international students into life, study, and work in Canada so as to ensure their success as both a student and a graduate of Stenberg College.

The individual in this position is expected to understand the mission, objectives, principles, and policies of Stenberg College, and to ensure that they operate within these guidelines.


Through the guidance and the use of leading and innovative practices, the International Student Advisor empowers students to achieve their educational goals while being in compliance with the regulation of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.


Duties and Responsibilities Include:


  • Work closely with the Student Success Coordinators to monitor student progress and look for signs of struggle. Collaborate with team members to support those students requiring help and act as a liaison between students and the various support elements within the College.
  • Maintain, update and deliver the "onboarding" program for international students and ensure a continual and functional connection of students to the Education Delivery Team as and when necessary.
  • Maintain resources and develop/deliver seminars, programs and activities aimed at creating an engaging, supportive education environment for international students with the goal of facilitating their full integration into the college community and the wider local and provincial community.
  • Provide wellinformed guidance to international students on matters of housing, daily life, and work/study employment so that their lives away from the classroom are as stable as possible.
  • Connect students to external mental health, legal or other resources as and when appropriate.
  • Collaborate closely with Practice Education to identify, connect with, establish, orient, and support Coop hosts for all international students.
  • Support students to prepare for and enter successful Coop placements that ensure the completion of their programs of study and the best possible opportunity for future employment and pathway to permanent residency.
  • Direct students to appropriate resources for consultation on matters related to immigration pathways as and when they arise and/or provide direct consultation.
  • Act as a principal point of contact and liaison between the TEC International Recruitment apparatus and Stenberg Admissions, Education Delivery and Practice Education teams
  • Keep up to date with changes to IRCC regulations, manuals, policies, procedures and processes, and communicate those to both students and the Stenberg team;
