The AVP Finance Business Partner will be working within a highly professional and strategically focused business partnering team reporting to the VP, Corporate Planning, Performance Management, and Business Partnering.


The role requires collaborative working across the business and wider finance team to drive delivery of strategic, operational, and financial plans.

What you'll do:

  • Leverage deep allaround knowledge, interprets/synthesizes, and delivers timely management information that chips in to valuable decision support.
  • Responsible for growing the relationships with the business as a partner, provides outstanding client experience and strengthens the relationships across boundaries.
  • Fulfilling the needs of senior management for a variety of constant ad hoc reports relating to actual, forecast and plan, including critical initiatives.
  • Lead all aspects of the development and implementation of best financial practices, within the business.


Performance Measurement- Understand key financial and operational drivers of performance and helps to integrate them consistently in business management reporting processes.- Support the development/refinement of appropriate efficiency metrics, dashboards and financial/nonfinancial metrics to enable effective performance management.- Facilitate visibility of financial performance and works with business leaders to drive improved performance.- Ensure business decisions endure processes that drive robust financial challenge and accountability.


Budgeting & Forecasting:

  • Drive quality business planning/forecasting ensuring business activities are being built that culminate in financial plans and performance targets being set and achieved.
  • Coordinate the communication of performance towards goals and strategies of the business. Establish and drive forward looking planning / budgeting processes ensuring alignment between financial and strategic plans.

What you'll bring:

  • 10 years of experience in the P&C insurance industry (Finance) Experience and knowledge of insurance products and industry Strong understanding of reinsurance arrangements Completion of a professional accounting designation (CPA) Strong understanding of the Insurance industry and its competitive environment High proficiency in financial knowledge (IFRS17, financial modelling, etc.) Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues in an easily understood manner and influence senior team members Solid understanding of other functional areas (Claims, Underwriting, Reserving, Pricing etc.) Excellent relationship builder and communicator with proven leadership and motivation ability Ability to manage multiple initiatives in a structured and controlled framework Possess strong influencing skills and is a natural leader
