Job Description:


Algonquin College's School of Media and Design is looking for talented and creative individuals to help us showcase the amazing work our students are doing in our programs.

We are looking to capture b-roll and imagery for each of our 28 programs to tell our students' stories and the projects they're a part of.

This footage will be used to spotlight our programs and promote our brand to prospective applicants.


With a goal of approximately one shoot per week (scheduling may cause this number to vary on certain weeks) we'll be joining active classes to ensure we are capturing our students' talents first-hand.


This role will be required to:

  • Capture professional video/photography on site in our classrooms and lab spaces that showcase student talents
  • Collaborate on storyboards, messaging and goals prior to each shoot
  • Recommend and suggest ideas on site to help support these goals
  • Adhere to established branding guidelines provided by Algonquin College

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be registered as a full time Algonquin College student;
  • Must be reliable, punctual, good verbal communication skills, attention to detail, good listener;
  • Ability and interest in photography or videography
  • Understanding of all stages of photo or video production (i.e., preproduction, production and postproduction)
  • Workingknowledge of industrystandard photography or videography software tools
  • Ability to work well with others in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to stay organized while working with others and under mínimal supervision
  • Open to feedback and willing to adjust
  • Awareness of social media trends as it pertains to photography or videography
  • Accuracy and attention to detail when editing the final video or photo
