Primary Purpose
Specific Responsibilities:
The Project Manager is responsible for the following as well as other related duties as assigned to support the business objectives and purpose of the University:
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors to bring projects to completion
- Ensure that all projects are delivered ontime, within scope and within budget
- Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
- Ensure resource availability and allocation
- Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
- Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
- Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
- Report and escalate to management as needed
- Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
- Perform risk management to minimize project risks
- Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
- Take corrective action when needed to ensure desired project performance and outcomes are achieved.
- Liaise with stakeholders and all members of the project team on relevant developments, requirements, and actions of the project.
- Ensure objectives, decisions, actions, schedules, and budgets are recorded, completed on time and budget, and communicated appropriately.
- Meet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project
- Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and longterm goals
- Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis
- Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients as well as other staff members
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs
Position Requirements

- Excellent knowledge of best practices in project management methodology
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, strategic planning, and project management skills
- Excellent decisionmaking and problemsolving skills
- Excellent facilitation, negotiation, and conflictresolution skills
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to effectively communicate across all levels of an organization
- Ability to manage and allocate resources to achieve objectives
- Experience managing multiple projects and priorities and responding to requests in a timely manner
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal/external stakeholders
- Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree required from a recognized university or postsecondary institute; Master's degree preferred.
- At least 3 years of direct experience in a related field at a regulated postsecondary institution in Canada; BC is preferred.
- Certification in Project Management is optional, but desirable.
