Primary Purpose

Specific Responsibilities:

The Project Manager is responsible for the following as well as other related duties as assigned to support the business objectives and purpose of the University:

  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors to bring projects to completion
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered ontime, within scope and within budget
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Take corrective action when needed to ensure desired project performance and outcomes are achieved.
  • Liaise with stakeholders and all members of the project team on relevant developments, requirements, and actions of the project.
  • Ensure objectives, decisions, actions, schedules, and budgets are recorded, completed on time and budget, and communicated appropriately.
  • Meet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project
  • Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and longterm goals
  • Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis
  • Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients as well as other staff members
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs

  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to effectively communicate across all levels of an organization
  • Ability to manage and allocate resources to achieve objectives
  • Experience managing multiple projects and priorities and responding to requests in a timely manner
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal/external stakeholders
  • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others

Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree required from a recognized university or postsecondary institute; Master's degree preferred.
  • At least 3 years of direct experience in a related field at a regulated postsecondary institution in Canada; BC is preferred.
  • Certification in Project Management is optional, but desirable.
