The Data Analytics Assistant will be Responsible for gathering, analyzing and visualizing data to provide meaningful and valuable insights and recommendations to University advancement stakeholders.
Ensure effective use of database models by automating processes and streamlining operations and maintain the accuracy, integrity, confidentiality and security of data systems.
Accountabilities
- Responsible for maintaining and reporting a wide variety of data sets in support of the department's operational and strategic plans.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data requirements and translate them to effective Power BI visualizations and reports.
- Conduct meetings with stakeholders to assess the quality assurance of data and thorough analysis of data to identify trends, patterns and insights and present findings to stakeholders in a clear manner
- Participate in project meetings, adhoc projects and propose recommendations by continuously monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of existing reports and visualizations in the areas of data management, quality control, and assurance.
- Scrutinize code to find and repair errors and inefficiencies and perform unit testing, system testing, and integration testing where needed
- Write queries and macros using SQL, Excel, or other similar programs, to generate quality control checks.
- Respond to inquiries from colleagues regarding relevant data issues and procedures.
- Attend and participate in group meetings.
- Safeguard the confidentiality of data, ensuring that data is accurate, consistent, properly maintained and shared in compliance with relevant privacy protection, confidentiality, and other ethical principles
- Stay updated with latest industry trends, tools and best practices related to data visualization and automation
Qualifications:
Education: 2 year Community College diploma in Office Administration or related field, such as data analytics
Solid understanding of data analysis techniques, statistical concepts, data management, data interpretation and data visualization best practices
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Experience: 1 year of related experience.
