Food Service Coordinator
Full-Time Permanent - 40 hours per week.

Starting Salary:
$47,000 Annually

Kinark Outdoor Center - Minden ON


Job Summary:


Reporting to the Director, the Food Service Coordinator is responsible to provide healthy meals to clients and oversee the daily operations/supervision of the food service department.


Duties & Responsibilities (not limited to):

  • Staff supervision
  • responsible for hiring, training and supervising staff. This includes providing ongoing feedback, goal setting and scheduling.
  • Ensuring Food Safety Standards and policies are implemented and practiced by all staff
  • Oversee cleanliness and upkeep of the kitchen and dining hall
  • Food ordering weekly food orders need to be put in using an online system through Sysco. Must inventory food and place orders based on upcoming visitor's needs and numbers.
  • Team meeting and Manager meetings regular team meetings with kitchen staff. Regular meetings with managers to get informed on upcoming groups and their needs
  • Food preparation includes cooking, serving, menu planning, kitchen maintenance and dishes.
  • Ability to ensure all special dietary requirements are met through menu planning
  • Coordinate with Program Manager to ensure food needs are met for visitors.

Qualifications:


  • Requires completion of High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Safe Food Handler's Certificate
  • A minimum of five (5) years of considerable position related experience required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, good problem solving skills, and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team environment.


Kinark Child and Family Services conditions of employment include but are not limited to successful Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening, completed Pre-Employment Medical certificate, and proof of full vaccination against COVID-19.

Fully vaccinated is defined as having received all required doses of a World Health Organization Approved COVID-19 Vaccine at least one of which being approved for use in Canada and 14 days have passed since your last dose.

Proof of vaccination for each vaccine dose received is required.
