PROGRAM SUPERVISOR I (Full-time)
EMPOWERING CHILDREN AND FAMILIES The Vancouver Society of Children's Centres (VSOCC) understands that children are competent, capable, and will reach their full potential when they actively participate in their own play and learning. Operating 16 state-of-the-art centres in Vancouver, VSOCC is a leader in the childcare sector.

- Nurturing, guiding and caring for children
- Fostering a strong sense of belonging, inclusion and collaboration
- Creating a welcoming, engaging, flexible playbased learning environment
- Planning, implementing, documenting and evaluating emergent curriculum that reflects the individual and group interests and needs of children and families
- Providing for the health, safety and emotional wellbeing of children
- Building and maintaining strong "shared caring" partnerships with families
- Maintaining supportive, collaborative relationships with VSOCC colleagues and community partners.
- Leading teams, supervising ECE professionals, upholding agencywide policies/procedures and licensing regulations
In addition to being a wonderful and positive person & team player, you must have:
- Licenses & Certifications: ECE basic | Childcare First Aid | Food Safe
- Minimum 3 years' experience working in a licensed child care with infant and toddlers.
- Minimum 1 year supervisory experience.
- Welldeveloped interpersonal skills, including excellent oral and written communication
- Strong knowledge and awareness of:
- Child development and use of developmental screening tools
- BC's Early Learning Framework and an emergent curriculum approach
- Family engagement strategies and parenting issues within a diverse community
- Knowledge of leadership strategies, group process, facilitation techniques and team building
- Knowledge of supports & resources for families and for children with extra support needs
- Knowledge of broader child care field and its role in the community
- Ability to take initiative, work independently and demonstrate good judgment
- Responsible, reliable, wellorganized, flexible, team player who loves learning and innovation
- Functional computer literacy in Word, Excel and Outlook
Additional skills and experiences may include:
- ECE Infant/Toddler | Special Needs Certificate & License | Occupational First Aid Level
- A Second Language
- Postsecondary education in related field
Terms of Employment:
-
Regular full-time position (37.5 hours per week)
- Salary: $28.33 per hour plus benefit. In addition, you will receive $4 per hour in Provincial ECE Wage Enhancement
- Starting: As soon as possible
