***Reporting to the Senior Director, Ambulatory Operations & Partnerships, the Bariatrics and Medical Outpatients Manager will provide leadership and direction to delivery of professional, safe patient care. Facilitate multi-disciplinary healthcare teams in the provision of services, while managing fiscal and human resources. Comply with and enforce all departmental policies and procedures, and standards of patient care delivery. Responsibility for hiring and retention, work assignments, work assessments, performance reviews, workplace investigations, employee discipline recommendations and actions including termination of employment.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree program in Nursing or other health related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years clinical front line management experience such as Charge Nurse; Advanced Practice Nurse; Manager; similar clinical leadership role
  • Demonstrated knowledge in relevant clinical area
  • Leadership or management courses from recognized institution

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for risk management; to review, follow through and report on complaints.
  • Participates in the development of operating plans, in consultation with stakeholders such as support services and departments, physicians, staff, consumers and community partners.
  • Fosters an environment that facilitates the use of evidence informed practices, ongoing professional development, and interdisciplinary care, research and clinical evaluation.
  • Challenges systems and practices, fostering a positive approach to organizational change.
  • Participates and /or chairs corporate committees both internally and externally.
  • Contributes to the organization, program and vision and strategic directions.
  • Responsible for occurrence report review, follow up and trending; responds to issues or concerns that are evident in occurrence reviews.
  • Responsible for liasoning with Research Department, including review and approval of REB's.
  • Responsible for reporting and monitoring wait times.
  • Liaison between public relations, patients' family and staff.
  • Supports and maintains the principles of shared governance, interdisciplinary and collaborative management, patient focused service, and continuous quality improvement.
  • Initiates and leads change effectively within the Department.
  • Exhibits creativity and flexibility through times of change.
  • Acts as positive role model during change process.
  • Works collaboratively with Clinical Directors and other key interdisciplinary members to address operational issues that impact the delivery of service and the efficient use of resources.
  • Provides leadership in the development of new initiatives by creating an environment that encourages creativity, innovation, and critical thinking among the interdisciplinary team.
  • Develops and maintains appropriate partnerships to respond to the changing customer needs and facilitates the continuum of patient care.
  • Works with the interdisciplinary team to design and implement excellent delivery models that include pathway development, establishing of new patient care services and programs that improve the Department services for patients, family and community.
