Description
Rail /Locomotive Domain is must and this will be day 1 Onsite role
Operates and programs Q.A. Co-ordinate Measuring Machines for routine inspections on series manufactured products.
With the support of the QA Engineer if required, operates the QA co-ordinate measuring machines during development programs and investigations.
Required to support manufacturing teams on daily basis by helping ensure self-inspection is effectively carried out, quality performance data is kept current on station boards, work station audits are conducted, Quality Red Alerts are raised when required, and quality issues and open actions are animated and progressed during daily meetings as part of the Leading Quality in Production process.
Also required to manage problem solving and Quick Response Quality Control (QRQC) activities including organizing meetings and collaborating with peers to establish containment and corrective actions to prevent recurrence of defects and support the zero defect program.
Required to carry out inspection operations and tests on production assemblies, including "first-off" production or purchased parts and support PME technicians with data and participation in First Mount Reviews (FMR).
Job Qualifications
Mandatory:
- Associate degree (2 years technical degree after high school)
- Experience in managing Quality Control tools and problemsolving tools.
Desirable:
Mandatory:
- Know how to read and interpret drawings and specifications
- Know how to use industrial measurement tools and instruments
Desirable:
- 2 3 years experience in Industrial environment
Competencies & Skills
- Familiar with manufacture of railway products.
- International mindset & fluent in English.
- Ability to work in a matrix organization.
Job Types:
Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Salary:
Up to $45.00 per hour
Expected hours:
No less than 40 per week
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday

Education:
- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (required)
Experience:
Industrial Quality Inspector: 3 years (required)
- Quick Response Quality Control (QRQC): 2 years (required)
- Industrial environment: 2 years (preferred)
Ability to Relocate:
- Thunder Bay, ON: Relocate with an employer provided relocation package (required)
