Key Job Responsibilities:


  • Process biweekly payrolls including offcycle and manual payments to salaried and hourly employees.
  • Review and verify time and attendance system entries, including adjustments for abnormal shift times, overtime, statutory holidays, personal absences, and paid time off.
  • Process registrations with federal/province/state/local jurisdictions and other government bodies as required.
  • Develop and input payroll adjustments for processing and ensure their accuracy and timeliness.
  • Process new employees, terminations, department transfers, and other position changes.
  • Administer, prepare, and update a variety of payroll forms and reports, including earnings, hours worked, taxes, and group insurance, ensuring their completeness and accuracy.
  • Prepare journal entries and reconciliations for payroll accounts.
  • Prepare and amend tax forms, employment of records forms, and manage various payroll annual reports and reconciliations as needed.
  • Administer and maintain payroll provider systems and personnel records.
  • Support all internal and external audits related to payroll.
  • Monitor and interpret new legislation impacting payroll processes and procedures.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Certified Payroll Professional and Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Two to three years of experience with a national payroll or different payroll jurisdictions, particularly in the United States.
  • Familiar with ADP-WFN, Justworks, or other relevant payroll and associated time and attendance systems.
  • Proficient with computer programs such as Microsoft Office and excellent mathematical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with employees at various levels of the organization, as well as with external partners.
  • Significant knowledge of the complete payroll cycle and compliance rules.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines while working under pressure.
  • Attention to detail, accurate, discreet, tactful, adaptable to changing situations.
  • Objective and capable to maintain a factual perspective when dealing with questions and concerns related to payroll.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, time management, decisionmaking, and problemsolving skills.
