Who You Are:

You are technically skilled in area of water flow monitoring, whether it be storm, sewer, precipitation or distribution in origin.

You are experienced in collecting accurate measurement data and are able to obtain data for specific conditions using different monitoring methodologies.

At your core, you are a detail oriented person who comprehends the requirement for highly accurate data retrieval.

Your mission at Smith Cameron is to perform site inspections, equipment installations, programming, maintenance, trouble shooting, and data collection.


To be successful in this role you must be able to utilize complex monitoring equipment in order to make infield decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, experience, and judgment.


About the

Role:


  • Maintain and record equipment calibrations; monitor equipment maintenance and inventory/supplies
  • Participate in other services such as Water and Sewer Flow Monitoring which includes:
  • Operation of proprietary monitoring software and associated equipment
  • Installation and removal of equipment
  • Calibration and maintenance of equipment
  • Data download, management of data, interpretation and preparation for delivery to client
  • Enter into confined spaces such as sanitary sewers
  • Responsible to participate in other related field studies such as:
  • Water Resource Monitoring
  • Water Loss studies
  • General data acquisition studies
  • Pressure and flow monitoring programs
  • Fire flow and 'c' factor testing programs
  • Acoustic leak detection
  • District Metering Areas
  • IWA Water Audits
  • Verify/calibrate and maintain flow meters, and other related field or process equipment using various electronic and calibration equipment or others as identified.
  • Complete onsite equipment maintenance
  • Complete onsite equipment diagnostics and troubleshooting
  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:


  • Mechanical certification or a combination of industry experience and schooling
  • Strong technical knowledge of hand and/or power tools and machinery
  • Basic understanding of machinery and hydraulic, electrical and other systems and their components
  • Understanding of lockout tagout, WHMIS, confined space entry, working at heights, traffic control and first aid.
