If you have a passion for fun, love being in the mountains and working in nature, all while leading a
group of children, spend your summer on Cypress Mountain as a Summer Camp Guide Summer

camp guides will create a fun and inclusive atmosphere, while leading groups of children (ages - 12) on excursions and in activities at Cypress Mountain.

Primary qualifications include enthusiasm,
group management skills, organization and overall, adherence to all safety procedures and
programs.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to the following)**:

  • Guide children aged through Summer Adventure Programming.
  • Ensure safety and wellbeing of children ages 512 years old while on site,
including understanding and implementing all protocols and procedures for
camper safety.

  • Provide a fun and engaging atmosphere for all campers.
  • Organize and facilitate games, activities and excursions.
  • Welcome and engage with campers and parents during dropoff and pickup.
  • Plan & develop daily and weekly ageappropriate activities working with weekly themes

- and set activities.
  • Provide a safe learning environment for students by following Class Management
- procedures and the Summer Alpine Responsibility Code.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by following the Occupational Health & Safety
- program and by reporting any health & safety concerns.
  • Daily debrief/reflection with Campers.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of activities and develop changes when needed.

QUALIFICATIONS/


COMPETENCIES:

Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Previous experience working with children (5-12years), preferably in a leadership capacity.

Strong leadership skills.

Be available to work Monday to Friday through the duration of the summer camp program
(including training week).

Demonstrate an interest/experience in one of the following fields: Education/ Childcare/
Geography/ Environmental Science/ Conservation or Outdoor Recreation.

Excellent verbal communication skills.

Experience working in a team dynamic.

Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Energetic, innovative and enthusiastic.

Patient, positive and hardworking.

Ability to communicate with a diverse audience in a respectful way; able to address
conflict in a constructive and professional manner.

Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs, push, pull and participate in outdoor field games.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES,


REGISTRATIONS:

Legally able to work in Canada.

Valid criminal record check

Current First Aid/CPR C certification an asset.


WAGE/BENEFITS/

Wage:
$18-20/hour, based on experience.
