Motif Labs is seeking a dedicated and driven Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Manufacturing Engineer at Motif Labs, you will play a pivotal role in developing innovative solutions and optimizing processes in the fast-paced world of cannabis product manufacturing. From vape filling to pre-roll filling and infusion, and beyond into consumer packaged goods (CPG), you will be at the forefront of process development, layout design, and automation implementation. Company Motif Labs is a licensed cannabis extraction facility located in SW Ontario.We operate as a business-to-business enterprise, offering toll processing and contract manufacturing services to Licensed Producers (LP's) and 3rd party brands. Motif also has a portfolio of in-house brands; BOXHOT, DEBUNK, Boondocks, and Rizzlers ,that are deeply connected to the diverse and evolving needs of today's consumer market.

Process development, layout design, and automation solutions pertaining to various packaging processes related to vape filling, pre-roll filling and infusion, and CPG products.
Design, sourcing, and implementation of fixtures, jigs, go/no-go gauges, Poke Yokes, sensors, etc. that reduce cost, eliminate failure modes, and optimize production rates.
Work with MS Dynamics 365 and have ownership of manufacturing BOMs, Routings, & Work Centres.
Create Process Flow Diagrams, Line Layouts, Work Instructions for all manufacturing processes.
Assess capability of existing processes, assess material flow throughout various production processes and optimize.
Reduce Occurrence and improve Detection of failure modes by leveraging PFMEA methodology. Analyze equipment malfunctions and failures accordingly based on root-cause analysis (i.e. 5-why) and develop and implement Corrective Actions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Applied Science or equivalent, preferably in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.
2-5 years of manufacturing experience (preferably in a lean, high volume production manufacturing environment or automation design facility)
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, procedures, machinery, material handling, conveyance packaging and logistics.
Understanding of lean manufacturing principals, and basic Quality Tools.
Structured and proactive with the need to quickly implement in an agile development environment.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Resourceful, autonomous, disciplined self-starter, with the ability to work independently and as part of an extended team.
Required to pass a criminal background check.
