Environment Health & Safety Business Partner


You will oversee the Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) function for the Thunder Bay Oilseed Processing Facility and Grain Terminal. This involves implementing and supporting EH&S programs to ensure effective risk management, regulatory compliance, and proactive management strategies.


JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsibilities include developing, implementing, and providing technical support for safety, health, and environmental standards. Additionally, managing safety programs, health procedures, and environmental standards.


Coordinate and execute corporate risk management activities related to environment, health, and safety, including conducting risk assessments of facilities and implementing disaster recovery plans.


Regularly engage with operations staff to cultivate a culture of high performance, health, and safety. This involves coaching, motivating, and mentoring to foster teamwork and continuous improvement.


Offer insights for ensuring that facilities and equipment comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements regarding design, construction, and operating characteristics. Provide technical support for emergency response and aid in developing and maintaining emergency response capabilities.




QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Proficiency in governmental regulations at federal and state levels.
  • Track record of implementing policies and procedures effectively.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience, along with a postsecondary degree in natural or applied science and a recognized professional certification.
