As a
Quality Coordinator for our
Ottawa District, you will contribute to our team by:


Responsibilities:


  • Conducts quality activities aligned with project scope as per the contract terms and conditions.
  • Reviews the project specifications and identify quality requirements.
  • Assist with onsite inspections and documentation to ensure that various construction activities are completed in accordance with the contract documents
  • Attend meetings with site quality control representatives to measure and identify areas of concern and to create improved methods to prevent and resolve further issues
  • Participate in internal and external audits to ensure quality control requirements are implemented and maintained
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of project quality requirements and key project risks
  • Ensure an adequate level of understanding of the quality program amongst all project staff by providing training and support
  • Collaborate with the project team on the review of Drawings, Specifications and Scopes of Work
  • Coordinate with Subcontractors for the development and submission of Subcontractor Quality Plans (SQPs); review and approve SQPs
  • Support Subcontractors on the development of workspecific Inspection and Testing Plans (ITPs); review and approve ITPs, or develop ITPs when necessary
  • Coordinate the implementation of Testing and Inspection activities
  • Work in conjunction with all parties involved to ensure proper implementation of the planned QA/QC procedures such as mockup reviews and approvals, inspections, surveys, testing, installation signoffs, etc.
  • Coordinate the implementation of the Deficiency Management System including the Non-Conformance Report process investigation, disposition and implementation of corrective and preventative measures
  • Participate in the Quality Audits that will assess the degree of implementation of the overall Project Quality Management System.

Qualifications:


  • Tradesperson or bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline.
  • 3 years of experience in quality control and/or the construction industry preferred
  • Working knowledge of pertinent regulations, codes, and specifications related to the construction industry (National Master Specifications, OPSS, CSA, ASTM, various industry standards etc.)
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 Standard is an asset
  • Exceptional time management and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain focus during extended periods of document research and review.
  • Ability to plan and organize work in a manner that is clear, concise and punctual
  • Communicate in a professional manner to all partners
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective customerfocused relationships with all stakeholders.
