As a Security Consultant for the TELUS Next-Generation SIEM (NG SIEM) team in the Cyber Defense Center (CDC), you will be part of a national team of client-facing security professionals.

You will support a variety of ongoing projects and initiatives including our Managed SIEM customers through creating SIEM content for improved security visibility, maintaining platform health and log availability for security incident monitoring, and supporting data integrity.

In addition, you will provide support to other in flight projects leveraging your understanding of technology and Python skills including automation and AI in our SOAR.


What you'll do

  • As a Security Consultant, you will take on many exciting roles:
  • Expert in your field: Support lifecycle management and use case development for a variety of SIEMs including LogRhythm, Splunk, Azure Sentinel, Next Generation SIEM technologies including SOAR and cloud native SIEM offerings.
  • Technology Savvy Problem-Solver: Resolve problems that are diverse and complex and frequently involve new issues that may not have been encountered previously, consult with customer on use cases that would address their unique security needs, conduct platform performance health checks, tuning, optimization and configure, install and integrate security technologies in customer environments

Present relevant security findings, recommendations and custom reports to internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications:


What you bring

  • A recent university graduate with a degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
  • Recognized for your coding skills in Python
  • Understanding of network systems administration and experience including Linux and Windows
  • Basic understanding of SIEM technologies
  • Understanding of IT security systems administration
  • Committed to being part of a team with 24x7 oncall rotation
  • With a knack for assessing and analyzing business needs and transforming them into workable business requirements
  • Commended for your high level of selfmotivation and accountability on technical projects in a competitive environment
  • Relevant Security training or coursework
  • With an ability to obtain Canadian Government Secret Security Clearance (or currently in possession of one)

Great-to-haves

  • Bilingual (French-English)
  • Previous SIEM experience (LogRhythm, Splunk, Azure Sentinel)
  • Experience in Scripting with Python
  • CISSP and CCSP certification
