***: As a Development Coordinator you are responsible for assisting the Director of Development, Development Manager, and Estimating Team with day-to-day coordination and administration of Development Services and Preconstruction Services being provided to current and prospective clients.

This goes beyond design and permitting management.

The Development team oversees and is responsible for all aspects of securing new projects and implementing a development and preconstruction program.

We work with our overall construction team, to deliver industry leading development services and construction excellence to our clients.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Issue RFPs to various consultants and designbuild trade contractors. Evaluating proposals and making award recommendations.
  • Assist with coordinating consultant drawings and deliverables, including tracking and follow up.
  • Assist with scheduling the project from initial design through the design development phase.
  • Assist the Director of Development, in close coordination with the Estimating department and Operations department, in drafting and issuing project proposals, budgets, cash flows, and preliminary schedules.
  • Act as a liaison with subcontractors for budgeting, value engineering, and constructability during design development activities.
  • Perform document control functions.
  • Liaise with Accounting department on invoice inquires.
  • Take and distribute meeting minutes and follow up on action items.
  • Inform Director of Development and other required parties about project status and issues that may impact client relations.
  • Use municipal GIS tools to obtain municipal planning and property information and restrictions.
  • Review and summarize basic legal title documents.
  • Assist with basic estimating and quantity takeoffs.
  • Draft letters and outgoing formal correspondence.
  • Support the development of design and building specifications.
  • Assist with drawing reviews.
  • Work with the Operations Department to ensure a seamless transition into construction.
  • Provide support in developing strong client relations through liaison and coordination activities.
  • Communicate ideas for improving company processes with a positive and constructive attitude set the standards for professionalism.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Minimum 2 years of experience in working as a Development or Project Coordinator, construction industry experience is preferred.
  • Diploma in Urban Land Economics or BCIT Construction Program Management Diploma preferred.
  • High level of consistent professionalism in dealing with external clients and project stakeholders.
  • Solid computer skills (Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Newforma, Blue Beam).
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organized, multitasker with the ability to set and manage priorities.
  • Exceptional time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle pressure situations in a professional manner.
  • Problemsolving and analytical skills.
