About Us
The Shoreline Power Group is a fully integrated Joint Venture of Aecon, United and SNC-Lavalin. Shoreline Power Group will be completing the Fuel Channel and Feeder Replacement (FCFR) project.

The joint venture has been awarded a contract by Bruce Power to execute the Unit 6 and Unit 3 FCFR at the Bruce Nuclear Generating Station in Kincardine, Ontario.


This project is part of Bruce Power's Life Extension Program, which will allow Bruce Power's CANDU units to continue to operate safely through to 2064, the project is the centerpiece of the Major Component Replacement (MCR) program to replace the main components of the reactor.

Unit 6 is the first of six reactors being replaced by Bruce Power through the MCR program.


The scope of work includes the removal and replacement of calandria tubes, pressure tubes, and feeders for Unit 6 and Unit 3, as well as construction management and trade labor.


The Human Performance (Hu) Lead, reporting to the EHS & Hu Director, will lead the Hu section and will be responsible for implementing and actively monitoring and managing the projects Human Performance program.

This role works together with the Safety team, Project Directors, Construction Managers and Supervisors to continuously improve human performance related to safety and the quality of work.

at You'll Do Here:


  • Establish a Human Performance section within the Project and provide work direction to the staff directly allocated to this work.
  • Interface with project teams and the client to ensure alignment and continued engagement of the Human Performance Program
  • Work closely with EHS and Quality team on Hu matters as delegated by Director.
  • Give direction and oversight to the Corrective Action and Preventive Action (CAPA) Program
  • Provide Hu advice and direction to Hu Advocates in the field.
  • Participate and cooperate with client and industry Hu activities
  • Develop Human Performance programs, plans, procedures, reports, and communications.
  • Regularly engage project teams for improvement of observation and coaching (positive reinforcement and feedback to correct undesired behaviours) interactions.
  • Coordinate and execute selfassessments of the Hu Program
  • Monitor and the Nuclear Safety Culture health of the projects. Use feedback from investigations, observations, questionnaires and survey data to improve safety culture traits.
  • Manage & continuously improve the Hu Learning Series and associated material.
  • Trend and report on Human Performance data from behaviour observations, Learning events and event investigations to identify improvement opportunities
  • Collect and communicate operating experience (OPEX) related to EHS, Quality and Hu activities associated with the projects.
  • Lead by example as a Hu advocate and engage the Project teams with improvement initiatives to promote a continuous improvement culture
  • Foster a learning culture that promotes working in partnership, innovation, and collaboration
  • Proactively identify improvements for team processes and tools
  • Take a consultative approach, have an openness to learn and change in order to continuously improve the Hu Program and our ability to effectively support ongoing operations
  • Communicates with project directors, supervisors/managers/trades to resolve issues/problems as they arise
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Supervise the staff in the Human Performance section giving day to day direction and feedback
  • To ensure the safety, health, and security of persons reporting to the position in accordance with applicable company, client, and legal requirements
  • Provide guidance and coach/mentor staff in the execution of Human Performance related field activities
  • Establish and set priorities for staff
  • Assess staff performance and coach and improve where necessary
  • Provide required performance feedback for all individuals supervised

What You Bring To The Team

  • Experience in construction and or industrial environment, preferably in a safety, quality or human performancebased role
  • Experience working with unionized trades is an asset
  • Knowledge of performance improvement, human behavior, adult learning, statistical and analytical concepts to effectively analyze existing practices and develop improvement strategies is preferred. This knowledge is expected to be from a combination of postsecondary education and relevant experience
