Major Responsibilities:
- Establishes and maintains business relationships with clients to discuss/assess clients needs.
- Prepares project charter, statements of work and project plans.
- Identifies risks and prepares action plans to mitigate.
- Conducts or leads team in delivery of projects or work packages.
- Liaises and coordinates with internal & external groups on accomplishment of deliverables.
- Prepares and presents status report and variance explanation for projects or work packages.
- Prepares findings & "Lessons Learned" from postimplementation project reviews.
- Assesses, analyzes, evaluates and recommends process & policy alternatives for projects & work packages.
- Redesigns business principles, processes, policies and standards by recommending best practices and improvements to current processes.
- Determines business requirements and builds consensus amongst clients.
- Prepares Business Plans, Gap Analysis, Logical Data Models and Design documents for proposed solutions that leverage information & technology as part of the solution.
- Provides input to Data Management teams on transformation of clients' business requirements.
- Recommends improvements to current methodology, process, standards, and policies.
- Assists staff in understanding of business processes and logic.
- Liaises with staff in development of test strategy, test cases & test scripts for system, performance, usability and acceptance testing of system solutions developed.
- Leads team to draft implementation & rollout strategies and plans.
- Conducts walkthrough of deliverables to identify potential problems.
- Prepares training material and documentation for use by clients and staff.
- Conducts training for client and their staff.
- Collaborates with clients on "Go / No Go" cutover decisions e.g. rollouts.
Key Qualifications:
- University degree in Computer Science or a related discipline with extensive development, sustainment and operational support experience in large scale IT solutions or the approved equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Extensive experience in business requirement gathering, business process and system analysis.
- Extensive experience in data analysis, modelling and reporting using SQL, PL/SQL, Crystal Report, Salesforce Report Builder, and Tableau.
- Experience with security practices, including programming, encryption, handling of sensitive data, authentication, access control mechanisms, file storage and network security.
- Experience with the following technologies and tools: Jira, Oracle, MSSQL Server,.NET, Visual Studio, & SAP Business Object.
You must also have:
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
- Understanding of privacy, security, and auditing; how these can be reviewed, monitored, and enhanced with regards to systems implementation.
- Knowledge of current and emerging technologies and understanding of secured networks and remote access, authentication, and authorization principles.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills, listening and interacting skills are essential.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Ability to work with competing demands and meet deadlines.
- Considerable work experience in Finance, insurance and risk management is considered an asset.
- Ability to work effectively with a group of multidisciplinary staff in a project team setting.
- Ability to travel within the City of Toronto as required.
- Ability to work days, afternoons and nights, including weekends, and other shift work as required.
