The Role and the Company
Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Lead Dispatcher to join our local team. This role is located at our Edmonton, AB office and reports to the Logistics Manager.

What you'll get to do:


  • Coordination and scheduling shifts of the dispatch staff.
  • Ensure quality product and timely deliveries to our customers with while focusing upon the company's financial and productivity objectives
  • Provide Phone and Dispatch Support for the staff as required.
  • Improving and streamlining processes in conjunction with the Logistics manager
  • Handle Customer Service disputes as required.
  • Assist in responding to sales and customer requests, while enhancing customer satisfaction and public relations while fulfilling duties of the job
  • Assist in implementing the company's valueadded product strategy

Essential Experience and Skills

  • Highly computer literate, proficient with MS Office and custom databases
  • Experience in resolving problems and dealing with difficult situations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to be selfdirected, with mínimal supervision
  • Track record of continuous improvement
  • Punctuality, attendance, and dependability is absolutely essential in this role, with the ability and motivation to work some Saturdays

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Sales or customer focused experience
  • Ready Mix concrete business or related industry experience a big plus
  • Knowledge of Command Data System, and Trackit Truck Tracking not required, but very helpful
