Position Description:


Ontario Shores is seeking a Social Worker with training and work experience providing Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to adults with depression and anxiety-related difficulties.

The Social Worker will deliver structured psychotherapy services to individuals and groups at a designated community location.

The Social Worker will possess strong clinical skills and expertise completing comprehensive assessments, administering mood and anxiety related measures, and delivering full courses of CBT.

They will be an active member of an interdisciplinary team, participate in a standardized training and clinical consultation curriculum, and will act as a resource for staff at their location.


  • Qualifications Required and Preferred
    Qualifications:
  • An MSW is required.
  • Training, experience and practice in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) required
  • Registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers in good standing
  • Current CPR-HCP is required
  • 35 years psychiatric experience in a mental health facility or service preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the OCSWSSW Standards of Practice and commitment to maintaining reflective practice standards as described by the College
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Mental Health, and relevant policies and legislation, such as the Mental Health Act and PHIPA is required
  • Ability to work independently, with mínimal supervision
  • Thorough knowledge of evidence based social work treatment methods applied in mental health settings/community
  • Demonstrated competence in individual and group therapy and crisis intervention skills
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and effective oral/written communication skills
  • The ability to work with clients of diverse ethno racial and cultural backgrounds and proficiency in a second language would be considered an asset
  • Ability to perform the physical demands of the position
