Job Description:


Reporting to Academic Manager of Learning and Teaching Services the Transfer Pathways Coordinator is responsible for facilitating and coordinating the academic pathways processes across the College, and supporting processes to receive credit for prior post-secondary and life experience.


The incumbent coordinates the development of new pathways, the exploration of new pathway opportunities, and the strengthening of existing pathways.

The incumbent also supports Academic Chairs in the development, planning, and execution of an Articulation Strategies that includes internal and external pathways.

The role involves facilitation of curriculum mapping and building receiving pathway agreements from within and outside the College.

In addition, the incumbent is responsible for the accuracy and maintenance of the academic pathway website (Find Your Pathway Tool), the AC Pathways Salesforce database, and Algonquin's pathways on the website.


With a focus on communication and promotion of prior learning and pathways opportunities, the incumbent ensures ongoing awareness for students, liaises with faculty and staff through information sessions, develops and runs workshops for students including class visits and orientation events aimed at mature students, and liaises with members of the Ontario Council on Articulation and Transfer (ONCAT).

The incumbent ensures relevant policies and procedures are communicated clearly to students and faculty.

Working closely with Academic Departments, College Marketing, the Registrar's Office, Recruitment, International, and Student Services, this position helps to promote academic pathway opportunities to current, prospective, and former Algonquin College students through various forums.


Required Qualifications:

  • Three (3) year diploma/degree in Adult learning or education, communications, counselling or related fields;
  • Training in curriculum design, development or mapping would be an asset;
  • Minimum of three (3) years' of experience working with Prior Learning, articulation agreements and/or curriculum;
  • Experience in research, analysis and reporting of data is required;
  • Experience advising students would be considered an asset;
  • Experience with project planning and development would be considered an asset;
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills;
  • Ability to research, analyze, organize, time manage;
  • Strong attention to detail, with ability to manage expectations, prioritize tasks, and time manage.
