We have an opening for a
Drafter where you will be responsible for producing overhead and underground electric utility drawings and providing design support to our
Mississauga location.

This is a fully remote position.


Responsibilities:


  • Importing survey data into relevant software programs to support design tasks and create accurate drawings.
  • Review and understand thirdparty civil, architectural, and electrical drawings for conflicts, and information as required by the project.
  • Ability to adhere to multiple CAD drafting standards and maintain a high quality of work is essential for consistent, and accurate drawings.
  • Produce, modify, and maintain site plans, electrical singleline diagrams, standard details drawings, and other tasks to support project designs.
  • Interpreting GIS information.
  • Ensuring data integrity in design, construction, and record drawings.
  • Autonomously manage workload to control multiple tasks, while meeting project deadlines.
  • Selfstarter and goaloriented. Likes to solve problems and enjoys tasks that require critical thinking.
  • Working with senior members to maintain drafting tools, processes, and templates.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications:


  • CAD/Drafting certificate or diploma from a recognized college or university.
  • Efficient in using Autodesk Map3D, Civil3D, Raster Design, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam.
  • Experience with capturing survey information and processing the data.
  • Strong understanding of Civil construction.
  • Proficient English language skills, verbal and written.
  • Strong collaborative / communications skills, and a willingness to liaise with other disciplines (Engineering, Construction, and Survey).
  • A passion for your work and selfmotivated.
  • Familiar with construction sites and being able to safely conduct site visits.

A few qualifications that would help you succeed:

  • Engineering Technology Diploma or Computer Aided Drafting Engineering Technology Certificate or Diploma from a recognized college preferred.
  • Experience in an electrical utility environment.
  • AutoCAD electrical experience would be an asset but not required.
