CENTRE:
As the Assistant, Police Information Checks at the New Westminster Police Department (NWPD), you will join the Quality
Control Unit to ensure our community receives the policing services it needs.

The purpose-driven work you'll be part of

As the Assistant, Police Information Check, you will be responsible for processing police information checks, record
suspensions and requests for fingerprinting services. You will work as part of a team to deliver innovative solutions which
will support the unit objectives as well as independently manage your daily responsibilities and priorities. Responsibilities

include but are not limited to:

  • Receive and process requests for police information checks, including vulnerable sector, records suspensions and
request for fingerprinting services.

  • Contact appropriate parties to obtain and or clarify required information.
  • Disclose results to applicants according to the legislation.
  • Prepare, complete and return documents to requesting agencies.
  • Operate PRIME, CPIC, Justin and related computer programs to conduct police information checks. Enter, read and
retrieve information for the completion of various forms related to the work.

  • Provide information and assistance to the public, other staff and outside police agencies regarding applicable
departmental procedures and regulations.

  • Maintain records, files, reports and other material and prepare routine correspondence.

  • You have completed Grade 12 plus considerable related clerical experience; or direct experience and knowledge of

You have the ability to process a variety of documents (i.e. Police Information Checks); and correspondence in
accordance with established policies and procedures.

with mínimal supervision.

  • You have the willingness and ability to adapt to the dynamic needs of the position as well as the Department.
