Key Responsibilities:


  • Planning and executing testing for web properties
  • Collaborate with web developers, designers, and content creators to understand project requirements and specifications.
  • Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases based on project requirements and functional specifications.
  • Identify, isolate, and report bugs and issues using appropriate bug tracking tools.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and provide valuable feedback to enhance the overall quality of projects.
  • Ensure compatibility and responsiveness across various browsers, devices, and operating systems.
  • Assist in implementing automated testing processes and continuous integration pipelines.
  • Monitoring and Ongoing Quality Maintenance
  • Use automated monitoring software and test scripts to ensure content quality, usability, and accessibility metrics are continually performing to expected standards as ongoing changes are made to web properties.
  • Monitor, respond to, and triage support requests from stakeholder areas to the appropriate members of Marketing and Communications
  • Documentation and Process Management
  • Ensure development documentation is updated and maintained as functionality is developed and updated.
  • Establish and document internal processes related to QA such as how to access selfserve options, how to create test user accounts, etc.
  • Training and Reporting
  • Develop and supplement training materials for NAIT staff to maintain website content.
  • Coordinate staff access to training modules and implementing CMS permissions as training is completed.

Skills & Abilities:


  • Strong understanding of web technologies, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and web development frameworks.
  • Familiarity with testing tools like Selenium, JUnit, or other automated testing frameworks.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills to identify and troubleshoot issues effectively.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams.

Qualifications:


  • Technical diploma in an applicable field related to position assignment, from a recognized postsecondary institution
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience with content management systems (CMS) is a plus.
  • Customer service experience is a plus.
  • Equivalencies may be considered.

Remuneration:
$2, $3,012.40 biweekly, plus a comprehensive benefits package. (Classification - Technologist III).

  • This position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement_
