2023 Capital Markets, Global Equities, Fall Equity Derivatives Analyst (4 Months)


About Global Equity (GE) Derivatives


GE Derivatives is a client facing derivatives business servicing Private Banks, Retail, Corporate and Institutional Clients and is present throughout Canada, New York, London, Hong Kong and Tokyo.

The business can be categorized into 5 functional areas:


  • Sales
  • Trading
  • Structuring
  • Quants
  • Business Technology

What Will You Do?
The purpose of the position is to provide sales and marketing support to the GE Derivatives Sales teams. Where you can be placed in either the Structured Notes Stream or the Institutional Stream.

The Analyst will develop a broad knowledge and understanding of the GE Derivatives portfolio of products in order to provide support to existing GE Derivatives clients.

The Analyst will also be expected to participate in client-focused sales activities and provide operational trade support, while helping maintain and strengthen the team's ongoing client relationships.


What Do You Need To Succeed?

Required Skills & Characteristics:


  • Knowledge of financial markets
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Strong oral and written skills
  • Multitasker that works well in a highpressure and unstructured environment
  • Relationship builder across various groups and individuals
  • Fast learner with an ability to anticipate next steps and tasks
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Programming experience an asset (Visual Basic, Python etc.)

Primary Responsibilities:

General tasks

  • Provide assistance and support to new and existing trades and clients
  • Assist with daily/weekly/monthly activities and tasks
  • Conduct data analysis and prepare management reports
  • Prepare clientfocused marketing material
  • Special projects as required
Structured Notes Stream

  • Provide operational support for the sales team
  • Support the hub by pricing note transactions and performing other tasks
Institutional Stream

  • Work closely with structuring on idea generation
  • Conduct company research and data analysis
