We are looking for a highly motivated student analyst to join our Investment Finance and Valuations team in Toronto.

In this role, you will be responsible for activities that support the quarterly valuations process of the private equity and infrastructure investment portfolios.


The Student Analyst, Valuations will be responsible for activities that support the portfolio analysis of private equity and infrastructure investments of OMERS.

Primary responsibilities include maintaining key financial models with large data set, portfolio analytics and scenario analysis in support of both the Finance Team (Valuations & Reporting) and the Deal Team, as required.

Job Responsibilities
The Analyst, Investment Finance & Valuations will have various duties during his/her work term which will include:
Assist with preparation of internal investment valuations, portfolio summary schedules and presentations as part of the quarterly valuation process;
Help maintain and update excel-based financial models;
Review and perform variance analysis on financial data;
Assist in market research, maintaining market data and providing summary reports;
Prepare valuation documentation for internal / external audit purposes;
Assist with the development of budgets and forecasts;
Working closely with other members of the Valuation team in order to ensure accuracy and completeness of analyses and documentation; and
Participate in special projects or duties, as required.

Working towards a business degree in Accounting or Finance;
Interest in pursuing a CBV designation is a plus;
General knowledge of financial and valuation analysis (i.e. financial statements, valuation methodologies, etc.);
Attention to detail;
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced level);
Working knowledge of Capital IQ is a plus;
Excellent analytical, quantitative and problem solving skills;
Strong written and verbal communication skills;
Ability to perform under time pressure and respond to unexpected events or circumstances;
Works on improving own knowledge, skills and aptitudes; and

A strong team player able to operate in a fast-paced environment with numerous priorities and deadlines with effective organization time management skills.
