Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Position Overview:
Reporting to the Administrative Assistant, Nutrition & Food Services, the incumbent is responsible for the provision of effective and efficient clerical support to the Nutrition & Food Services Department as assigned.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
typing a variety of correspondence; preparing documents and minutes; filing; formulating reports and records for interpretation and analysis; maintaining an inventory of supplies; preparing payroll and record keeping.
Performs duties in accordance with established policies/procedures, departmental standards, timeframes, and quality improvement programs; provides relief for the Administrative Assistant during periods of absence.
Experience:
- Two year previous related secretarial experience required.
- Experience in payroll coding an asset.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate):
- Complete high school education, Manitoba Standards, required.
- Successful completion of a recognized secretarial training program required.
- A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Typing 50 wpm required.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint) required.
- Excellent command of the English language, both oral and written required.
- Must have excellent interpersonal and customer services skills.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to prioritize, organize and complete a variety of clerical and record keeping duties with accuracy and proficiency.
- Demonstrated time management skills, the ability to complete tasks and meet established deadlines required.
- Preference will be given to those applicants competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions and values.
Physical Requirements:
- Periodic heavy lifting and carting.
- Work environment consists of frequent interruptions and various noise levels. Must be able to accurately perform a variety of routine and repetitive tasks requiring physical exertion and dexterity (i.e. hand and wrist movements).Please note that an employee is not permitted to hold two or more positions in Shared Health that combine to equal more than 1.0 FTE.
