The Pharmaceutical Initiatives Manager is a key enabling and leading role in the Drug Reviews and Pharmaceutical Partnerships (DRPP) team within Health Solutions.

This role requires passion, energy, curiosity, ability to solve complex problems, and an unrelenting desire to drive the collective success of the team.


Reporting to the Director, Drug Reviews and Pharmaceutical Partnerships, this individual will support work on various business and strategic initiatives for the Pharmaceutical Partnerships Program to elevate the value proposition of the offering in the market.


What will you do?

Project and Relationship Management

  • With support from the Program Specialist, assess, evolve, and document business processes that serve as the foundation for the Pharmaceutical Partnerships Program (i.e.
, drug pipeline monitoring, drug reviews, drug negotiation strategy and execution), including but not limited to:


  • Manage and optimize tools used to perform work (i.e., drug review templates, negotiation strategy and prioritization framework, project management solutions, etc.).
  • Establish and maintain strong governance for processes, including internal stakeholder involvement and visibility.
  • Identify and solution continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Identify, measure and report on key performance indicators for the program.
  • Lead and coordinate execution of business processes, including but not limited to pharma stakeholder engagement and communication, drug reviews, drug negotiations, and drug pipeline and material market event monitoring.

Program Strategy

  • Lead and manage the work required on strategic/business initiatives of the DRPP team, including but not limited to conducting strategic analyses, leveraging strategic frameworks, working with data, interpreting analytical results, generating insights and developing decks / reports to convey findings and recommendations; prepare and present both formal presentations and informal updates on analysis / recommendations.
  • Support the strategy of the business unit, working closely with the Pharma Leadership Team.

  • Demonstrated analytical, research, critical thinking, and problemsolving skills (able to structure problems and hypotheses).
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), presentation, and documentation skills; able to convey complex information clearly and succinctly to all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working with data, conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  • Effective relationship builder with the ability to influence.
  • Selfmotivated and selfdirected with demonstrated accountability and leadership; able to make effective decisions and recommendations leveraging the team expertise and/or independently.
  • University degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Health, and/or Management/Business
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience, ideally in the private benefits and/or pharmaceutical industry
  • As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English and Frenchspeaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada or worldwide.

Assets:


  • MBA degree
  • Strong working knowledge of the regulatory and competitive environment for prescription drugs and pharmacy benefits with awareness/ability to anticipate key trends.
  • Exposure to the complexities of drug plan benefits, formulary management and/or health technology assessments, including pharmacoeconomic and budget impact analyses.
  • Experience with specialty drugs, oncology drugs, and/or drugs for rare diseases.
