The Headlines:

Financial Analyst

working in Toronto brewery, you will be part of the Finance team., You will support the finance team during month-end close and cost savings initiatives. You will be involved with various weekly reconciliations and meetings with various departments.- This position reports to Brewery Controller - Toronto.

The Responsibilities**:


  • Support the brewery Finance in monthly closing and reporting activities (accruals, journal entries, cost center reporting, account reconciliations, compiling forecasting/actuals reporting, and other adhoc reporting)
  • Required to work with department directors to increase savings initiatives. Some of the key activities are build and verify VOP projects, building the bridge between savings in financials to the production process and working with production team leads to minimize waste.
  • Lead weekly backflush error meetings with packaging, warehouse, and Material Management teams.
  • Responsible for the weekly reconciliation of the payroll interface and report any material variances.
  • Tracking and recording export certificates ensuring completeness, followup with customers for missing documents mitigating the risk of claiming excise tax rebate with no corresponding certificate
  • Adhering to the Fixed Asset Count policy by planning the assets to be counted annually and collaborating with different individuals at the brewery for the execution of the count and validate the count using samples.
  • Responsible for the accuracy and filing of monthly and annual manufacturing survey in compliance with Statistics Canada requirements.
  • Review contract vendor invoices in detail
  • Reconciliation of B60 reports and Dump reports.
  • Identify and propose process improvements to management and revisions to standard operating procedures and provide training due to the implementation of process changes.
  • Support Brewery management to achieve waste reduction targets.
  • Provide support to the Brewery Management Team for any adhoc requests.
  • Support adhoc requests from production teams.

The Other Qualifications:


  • You have a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance OR equivalent experience (4+ years) in the field
  • You have at least 12 years' progressive experience Supply chain accounting role or Financial Analyst role
  • Working towards CPA qualification would be an asset.
  • Advanced level computer skills especially Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of SAP MM/FI/CO, Blackline & Ariba would be an asset.
