Description
Chevron Canada Resources is actively seeking a Measurement Specialist (SME) to join the Canadian Business Unit (CBU). This position is based in Calgary, Alberta and will report to Electrical & Measurement Supervisor.

The role will function as part of a broader collaborative multi-discipline team of Electrical, Measurement, Instrumentation, Control and Operational Technology personnel within Facilities Engineering, Operations and Maintenance.

The primary role and responsibility for this position is to provide Measurement Expertise, Engineering support to CBU's Kaybob Duvernay assetand have knowledge in Instrumentation discipline.

This position will deliver projects consisting of Instrumentation and Measurement solutions to improve and sustain operational safety, maintain reliability and deliver higher returns.


Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Operations & Maintennace Support

  • Collaborate with Operations to evaluate, troubleshoot, and mitigate measurement challenges.
  • When required assist with validating calibration reports ensuring accuracy and completeness. Escalate items back to field/calibration designates as required.
  • Manage regulatory compliance by ensuring testing procedures follow guidelines.
  • Respond to FE and Operations queries and process data requests.
  • Review, maintain, and distribute measurement schematics (ABMD)
  • Assist with development of measurement training to Operations and upskill the technical teams.
Project Technical Support

  • Provide functional review of MOCs (Management of Change) to determine if Measurement work is required.
  • Provide Engineering Team Accounting Meter Block Diagram development.
  • Provide and maintain measurement schematics for operations and production accounting.
  • Ensuring all measurement equipment meets company and industry regulatory standards;
  • Interpret and use appropriate CSA (Canadian Standards Association), ISA and API installation standards and practices.
  • Perform system testing/projects/facility measurement reviews as required.
Measurement Program Execution

  • Maintain and update Measurement Integrity Process Manual as business needs dictates.
  • Crosstrain team members on system enhancements, updates, changes, and amendments to existing or new processes.
  • Collaborate with Planners, Schedulers, Operations, and Remote Operations Centre staff to optimize measurement tasks and workflows.
  • Execute EPAP (Enhanced Production Audit Process) testing and reporting collect data for audit, remediation actions as required.
  • Manage and provide updates to Supervisor on EPAP audit action items.
  • Provide custom/adhoc reporting to internal and external parties as requested.
  • Participate in the crossfunctional team resposbile for 3rd party processing management
  • Participate in the review and development of industry standards API (American Petroleum Institute), AGA, Measurement Canada
  • Develop continuous improvement initiative business cases and oversee execution when approved

Required Qualifications
Technical Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or technical certificate in relevant discipline required or Certified Instrumentation Journeyman.
  • 10+ years' experience in measurement systems for oil and gas, instrumentation calibration, meter proving and custody transfer measurement/allocation systems.
  • Must possess maintenance and industrial oil field instrumentation experience.
  • Must have experience in facility regulatory measurement.
  • Advanced knowledge of flow measurement systems and end devices
  • Advanced knowledge of Electronic Flow device configuration and software
  • Knowledge/understanding of government oil and gas regulations (Alberta (AER), British Columbia (OGC)

  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, data visualization tools such as Power Bi
